Letter to Father Requesting Him to Increase Monthly Allowance

Examination Hall,
A. B.C. (City).
November 27, 2013.

My dear Father,

I hope that this letter of mine will find you in the best of your health and spirits. I am in receipt of your kind letter. After a few days' stay at home, I am feeling very lonely in the hostel. Your letter meant so much to me. It dispelled the gloomy and depressing mood in which I was. No doubt, letters of parents for children living away from home are no less than bounteous boons. The letter is brimful of your soft-hearted sentiments and wonderfully warm feelings. It has showered me with fatherly affection and love. thank you heartily for the same.

Dear father, many a time during my stay with you, I thought of discussing a particular thing, but I hesitated to talk about this delicate topic. Today however like to draw your attention to it through this letter.

Father, yesterday I received a money order from you for Rs. 4000/-. Thank you very much for this generous gift. Indeed it has proved to be a big boost for me as I desperately needed money. Father, the money you send to me every month is substantially significant. Though it is just a meager amount, it is weightily valuable for me. To be straightforward, I want to tell you that I cannot meet my needs within this amount anymore.

In the next examination, I will show you even better results. The target for which am struggling strenuously is to win distinction in the board examination. I am working my fingers to the bone to get this aim fulfilled. I want to turn your cherished dreams into reality. Moreover, now it is winter. I cannot use the thin uniform of summer. Therefore, I want to buy a new thick uniform.

So, in view of the above facts, I am forced to request you to increase at least Rs. 2000/- in my monthly allowance to manage all my affairs in a proper and dignified manner. I also request you to send me Rs. 1000/- at the earliest for my present use. I feel I am a drain in your pocket, but education and other necessities of life these days are so costly that one knows not what to do. I think my request is genuine and therefore you will certainly accede to it. I hope you would not disappoint me. I hope to see you and dear mother in the coming holidays. Please pay my compliments to others at homes
With regards and love
Yours affectionately,
X, Y, Z.
