Letter to Friend Inviting Him to Spend Some Holidays With You

My dear Friend,

I am hale and hearty here with the grace of Almighty Allah and I hope that this letter of mine will find you in the best of your health and spirits. It is long since you dropped any line to me. I do not know what is the reason of this long silence. By the way, the purpose of writing this letter is to remind you of a promise you made a month ago that you would spend a few days of the forthcoming summer vacations with meat my village. Colleges are closing on the 10" of this month. I think you will be almost free during these holidays. If you come to me, we shall spend a few days, together. You know my village is situated in the heart of lofty mountains. The surging streams, the rushing rivulets and fast flowing freshets add to the beauty of the village. There are many enfolding sunny spots of greenery on the tops and foot of the hill. The forested mountains present a panoramic view. Snow-capped mountain peaks, perennial plants, tall trees, balmy breeze, amiable atmosphere, babbling, brooks, rustling rills, verdurous valley and Sweet-smelling surroundings soothe the perturbed souls. Wonderfully Serene and placid Countryside is waiting for you.

The Summer is at its peak. The heat of the plains is scorching these days. The hustle and bustle of life is totally Crippled. I know you live in a densely populated city. You must be sick of the dull, dreary and monotonous lifestyle of public parks, bustling bazaars, haphazard rush and disorderly din of the city. Rough and rowdy routine of life wrecks human proficiency. You must need an escape from the boring and polluted atmosphere of the city to some fresh, charming and pollution free atmosphere to alleviate the stress and strain of the city life. It is but natural for man to try to avail himself of a few moments of enjoyment and bliss at some health-resort. You would really enjoy the pleasant and placid atmosphere of my village. As a poet says:

"In some melodious plot
Of beachen green and shadows numberless
Singest of summer in full throated-ease"

Iown a spacious house on the top of a forested hill. it is surrounded by lush green terraced fields. We have grown many kinds of fruit trees in our orchard. They bear prolific fruit. You would really love to eat red apples, yellow apricots, reddish juicy peaches and many other fruit. The chirping birds, rustling wind, lush green swaying twigs of trees, silvery clouds drifting in the sky would leave a miraculous impact on your stressed soul. The nearby peak is somewhat flat where we play various garnes. It is a wonderful natural playground. My cousins and I beguile with time there. Sometime we take our guns and go into thick jungle for hunting. It is real fun to hunt rabbits and sometime even a 'Markhor'. Like Wordsworth:

"I wondered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high over vales and hills"

Do not think that we will play round to clock. I have made a programme to do homework as well. We would do every thing according to a certain Schedule. Knowing your passion for poetry, Lam certain that you will be able to Compose fine poems in the picturesque atmosphere of the hilly areas. therefore, invite you to come to me and spend these holidays with me. Just tell me the date of your arrival so that I should make arrangements for your reception. I do hope that you would not disappoint me. Hoping an early positive reply from you and eagerly waiting for you.
